Fall 2020

COVID-19 has struck CMU, but the brotherhood remains strong. Only a limited number of brothers are currently living in the house while the rest are studying remotely. Chapter meetings are held via Zoom.

The meal plan is suspended for the foreseeable future due to University policy, but a group of very generous donors has helped curb financial stress on the chapter and our beloved cook, Cassi. The University has granted a lease abatement through the ‘21-’22 academic year as they try to encourage students to remain off-campus.

Planning for the 100th Anniversary has stalled as we see how the COVID situation develops. The nearby hotels are occupied the entire academic year by CMU and Pitt students as the universities de-densify their dorms. There are still local restrictions on indoor gatherings that have other venues hesitant to commit. We’re considering having the celebration in the Fall of 2021.
